The OTC provides a comprehensive pre-vocational evaluation service. This vocational evaluation consists of an evaluation of a consumer’s vocational interests, aptitudes, dexterity and other vocationally relevant factors. The assessment utilizes standardized testing as well as situational assessment that are staged in the facility’s sheltered employment center or if possible, in a community employment site. The objective of the evaluation is to assist the consumer in formulating a satisfying and feasible career choice. Referrals for this service generally are made to OTC by NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), The Commission for The Blind and Handicapped, area school districts, and other community social service agencies.
